State Fair of Texas

Yesterday, Mom, Dad, the kids, and I went to the State Fair of Texas! We have gone to the State Fair for as long as I can remember. It is always the same stuff every year, but we LOVE it!

This year we ate corny dogs, fried chicken, nachos, cinnamon rolls, funnel cake, cotton candy, ice cream, and Mom had a candied apple. I know that seems like A LOT, but we usually eat more than that! I was on sugar overload when we got home and felt awful!! Luckily the kids didn't eat very much of the sweet stuff, so they were feeling fine.

I have been terrible about taking pictures lately, and yesterday was no excpetion. I took a total of 4 pictures yesterday, and I am going to post 3 of them.

Here's the kids in the wagon. They were watching a fun house at the Midway.
I got a "cheese" face from Peyton!
Parker was too busy looking at the Fun House!

Pedal Boats

Once we knew Parker's arm was fine, we decided to take a ride on the pedal boats. I always thought they were called paddle boats, but I guess I was wrong!

I don't know why he looks so sad here, because he was so excited to ride!
Peyton was fine with the life jacket, but refused to get on the boat!
Mom and Aunt May rode together and declared that after pedaling for so long, they were going to have ballerina legs!
Parker rode with his Grumps
He's waving to me!
Here's everyone. Adam had to ride by himself, because I was onshore with Peyton.
After everyone was back ashore, Adam and I went for a ride! I forgot how much fun they were. I hadn't been on one since I was a little kid!

Swinging

On our way back to the cars from the dam, Adam and Dad were swinging Parker from his arms. This is something Parker loves to do, and Adam and I do it with him all the time! Well, this time, we had a scare!

Parker started crying hysterically, saying that his arm hurt! I just knew that it has been pulled out of socket! When Parker was about 6 months old, I had to rush him to the ER, because as I was trying to pick him up out of bed, he pulled away from me, and it pulled his arm out of socket. The doctor told me it was very common, but since it had happened once, it was very likely to happen again.

So anyway, when he started freaking out, I immediately assumed that is what happened. We put him in his car seat, fully prepared to take him to the ER, which was 30 minutes away! In a few minutes, he was fine, and was putting his arms up over his head. At this point we knew that his arm was ok, because if it would have been out of socket, he wouldn't have been able to move it!

Thank goodness he was ok, but I don't think we'll be swinging him from his arms again for a LONG time!

Preparing for the swingSwinging!

Dam at Beavers Bend

The dam at Beavers Bend was absolutely beautiful!! I took a lot of pictures, but since it had rained that morning, and the fog was out, the pictures didn't turn out very well. I am going to show you a few, but they in now way show how gorgeous it really was!!!

This is the view from one side of the bridge. This is the view from the other side of the bridge. Can you see all the fog?
This is a pic of the little brook that was going between all the trees and hills. It was gorgeous!

Peek-a-Boo

The kids were sitting together in the wondow, so I thought it would be a good time to get the camera and take some pictures of them. When I came back with the camera, Adam was in the window behind them. It was hilarious! The kids had no idea he was back there until he tapped on the window. It made for some pretty cute pics!

They are clueless!Peyton just realized he was there!
Hehehe! You would have had to of been there, but it was hysterical!!
"Where'd Daddy go?!?!"

Smores

The first night we were there, we decided to make smores. Mom made sure to bring all the ingredients for them, because my Dad, Adam, and Parker had never had them before. They are one of my favorites! I couldn't believe that my 62 year old Dad had never had one before! Especially since he goes on a 10 day camping trip every year, and has done so for the last 25 years!

Believe it or not, Adam and Dad did NOT like them! How can you not like SMORES?!?!? Parker LOVED his! Here's a few pics of him eating his.

Big bite of marshmallowI wish you could see how much was on his face!
Mmmmmm!

Broken Bow, Oklahoma

Last weekend, my family and I, went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma. We rented a BEAUTIFUL cabin and stayed for a few days. I neglected to get any pictures of the cabin, so if you click on the link, it will take you to the website that has some pictures. The pictures don't do the cabin justice, but you will at least get an idea of how awesome it was!

We all had a blast!! I think Parker enjoyed it more than anyone! He could be outside 24 hours a day and never get tired. He played in dirt, with rocks, sticks, and whatever else he could find on the property. He was so cute!

Peyton enjoyed being outside too, but she had a cold, so she was fussy most of the time we were there. I wish she would have been feeling 100%, because I know she would have loved it just as much as Parker. My little girl is a brute! Sometimes I think she is a little boy!

My dad brought his 4-wheeler and we all got to ride around on it. Parker LOVED it, but Peyton was scared of it. That thing is powerful too! I asked my dad at one point why he got a 4-wheeler with a Porsche engine. It was a little scary driving it for the first time!

Of course, with all that was going on while we were there, I forgot about the camera most of the time. I did get a few pics though! I am going to post them over several posts, since there's so few.

Parker was trying to be like Daddy and poke the wood in the fire pit. It made me so nervous!
Peyton felt so crummy, I couldn't even get a smile from her! Poor baby!
Lucky loved it! Here she is sleeping by the fire.
I woke her up when I was taking pictures...this is her sleepy face!
He was digging in the huge dirt pile with all of his sticks!

Finally got to meet Charleigh!

Last Thursday evening, I finally got to go to Joe and Stacy's house, and meet Charleigh for the first time! She is so precious!!

Stacy is doing wonderful and feeling pretty good. Charleigh is breast feeding like a champ! I am so happy for Stacy!! She doesn't know how blessed she is to have a baby that has had no issues with this! Both of my babies had issues, so I had to pump forever, and boy was it a pain!!

I forgot to get pictures of Charleigh's nursery, because I was too busy oohing and awwing over her, but it is so cute! Stacy did an awesome job decorating it!

Joe and Stacy are already wonderful first time parents! You would think they had already had 2 or 3!

I didn't get many pictures, but I am posting the few that I took.

Isn't she precious?!?!I love sleepy face!!
How cute is that?!?
Congratulations again Joe and Stacy!!! I am so happy for y'all! Love you!

The Twinkies at the Park

That morning, after taking Parker to school, Andrea and Claire came over. We had already decided they were going to wear their matching shirts. Since the weather was so beautiful, we decided to take them to the park.

The girls had a blast until we had to take them out of the swings, so that two other little girls could have a turn. Peyton threw a massive fit! I swear she cried for 15-20 minutes and stood there pointing at the swing. It was awful!

Here's Peyton when we first got to the park
The twinkies swinging...aren't they cute?!?!
She LOVES the swing...I think she's a little obsessed with it!
Claire does too, but she's not obsessed with it like Peyton is!
Claire enjoying the slide.
This is what Peyton looked like after I took her out of the swing. She looked like this until we left the park, 15-20 minutes later! Do you think she has a little attitude?!?!
Claire was hugging Peyton because she was crying. It was so sweet!!

Carpool Line

I can't believe how far behind I am on blogging! It has been busy around the Allen household lately.

Last week, while waiting in the carpool line at school, I snapped some pics of the kids. They were lookin' pretty cute, so I thought I would share!

The infamous "cheese" face!Cutie Pie
Sweet girl
He's pretending to take a pic of me
No clue what he's doing here!
Or here! He refuses to take a normal picture!
