Well Check-up & Play Day

Peyton had her 18 month appointment today and all was fine until Dr. Lin walked into the room. She already associates him with needles, which is NOT good. She screamed and cried through the entire check-up and she didn't even have to have shots. For some reason she was lacking 2 weeks before she could get her Hepatitis A shot, so we are going back in October to get the Hepatitis shot, along with her flu shot. Why not just knock them both out at once? Right?

She is still miniature, which we all knew, but I thought for sure she would be over 20 pounds by now. She eats like a piglet, ALL day long, and on most days eats more than Parker. I thought wrong though...she only weighs 19 lbs. 6 oz., which is the -5th percentile and measures 30 3/4", which is the 20th percentile. Of course though, since she has either met or exceeded all of her other milestones for 18 months, and has always been miniature, Dr. Lin is not the least bit concerned. Neither am I though. Both of my babies have always been little. Parker didn't start evening out on his percentiles until his 3 year check-up. Apparently they both take after me, because my mom said I was always very low on my percentiles and weighed less than 19 lbs. at my one year check-up.

After the doctor's visit, we went to Collin Creek Mall to have lunch, play on the playground, and ride the train. My mom was off work today, so she was with us, and we met up with Andrea and Claire (which have a blog now, but I'll talk about that later). The kids had a blast playing on the playground and Peyton actually played today! She climbed steps and even went down the slide. Not that she isn't capable of doing these things, but she doesn't do very well in crowds most of the time. Normally if there are a lot of people, she won't stray further than a couple of feet from me. The playground today was a lot smaller than the one that we normally go to, so that may have had a lot to do with it.

After the playground, we took the kids to the Disney store to play while the train "conductor" was on her 15 minute break. Once the "conductor" was back, Granna bought all the kids their tickets (thanks Granna!), and they got to ride in circles for about a minute and a half. I think it was worth the $6 to Granna to see Claire and Parker have so much fun. Mom rode on the train with Peyton because I thought she was too little to ride it by herself, and other than getting scared when it first took off, she loved it too...although she didn't appreciate the lady taking her ticket from her. It was HER ticket and she wanted it back! Can you tell it was nap time? Threw a fit over a little red piece of paper!

I guess that is enough of my rambling for the night. I am tired and really have no clue what I just wrote, but it will have to do, because I don't feel like doing any editing tonight and there are a couple of other things I wanted to blog about. They may have to wait until tomorrow. Here are a few pics from our day.

Claire on the bridge at the playground. I love this pic! She was so proud of herself.

A cute little pic of Bitty!

Of course she had to do her cheese face!
Parker hanging out in one of the houses...he looks so big!
Peyton trying to figure out how to get in the car.
The train conductor.

Claire Bear looks so grown sitting in the train.
Making another silly face!
How cute are they?!?!
Here they come!
Granna and Peyton! Do you see the ticket in her hand? The lady gave it back to her and she held onto it until we left the mall.

Oh, and I almost forgot...Andrea started a blog tonight. Go see her and say hello! Her blog address is texascrabs.blogspot.com, or you can click her name over on the left.

Celebrate

Aunt May called me this morning after reading the blog and told me about another Parkerism that she wanted me to post because she thought it was so cute. I had completely forgotten about it, so I'm glad she reminded me.

Last weekend Parker was playing baseball with Adam and Aunt May in the living room. His idea of baseball is putting on his glove and holding it out so Adam can throw the ball into it. Anyway, he went up to Aunt May and said so proudly, "My Daddy can play baseball. My Daddy can do anything!" How sweet is that?!?!?

Another cute one I wanted to tell y'all about happened yesterday. Parker loves to play games on his Daddy's computer and we go to Noggin.com for all of their toddler games. It is actually a great website for toddlers. He told me he wanted to play Dora, so he pointed to the game, I got it setup, and I went into the living room to catch up on some DVR. I could kind of hear him mumbling something, but I couldn't quite make out what it was. I muted the tv and as I did, Parker sings, "Celebrate good times, Come On." He continues to sing the song while I am cracking up!

I guess the game that he chose was songs from Dora episodes. For those of you that don't watch Dora, she sings Celebrate in one of the birthday episodes. I thought this was too cute to not share with you all.

My Little Outdoorsman

Parker wants to be just like his Daddy. While Adam was mowing the lawn today, Parker ran up to me and told me he needed to help Daddy mow. We went to the backyard and got his lawnmower and he immediately ran out to follow Adam side-by-side. It was so precious!

I love how he is looking at Adam in the picture to make sure he is doing it exactly how is Daddy is doing it.

Look at him go! He lasted a while too...I was surprised.

After Parker's mowing adventure, we all went inside to cool off and clean up all the toys Parker had gotten out earlier that morning. As he was cleaning, he sat aside his pail and two of his shovels. Once he cleaned up all of his messes, he told me he needed to go outside and dig. Well, the sprinkler was running in the backyard, and when wet, it gets very muddy, so I told him we would have to go in the front. There aren't any dirt patches in the front, but I had a few pots that had half dead plants in them, so I let him dig in the potting soil. He had a blast! He played with the dirt for at least 30 minutes. That's a long time for a 3 year old to do anything.

My little gardener! The blue thing is a sifter, and Parker loved it, because he was able to find some rocks. What is it with boys and rocks?

When he finished up his gardening, he comes up to me and out of the blue says, "I want to be strong like Daddy." I said ok, and was a little confused by this. He repeated himself and I told him that he was strong, and one day he would be as strong as Daddy. He got frustrated with me because I didn't know what he was talking about and he went and sat on the weight bench that is in the garage. I said, "Oh, so you want to work-out?" He said, "No, I just want to be strong."

After explaining to him for a while that he was not going to be able to lift the weights because they were too heavy, he finally gave up and went inside. I would have posted a picture of him on the weight bench, but honestly, I am a little embarrassed by how that part of the garage is looking right now. The bench is surrounded by huge trash bags full of clothes that are waiting to go to the Salvation Army. So y'all don't get to see any pics of how cute he looked trying to lift weights. Sorry!

I am loving this stage in his life where is he trying to be so independent and trying to do so many "adult" things. It makes for great learning experiences for Parker, but also creates great stories and lots of laughter for me and Adam. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

Itty Bitty's growing up!

Peyton is 18 months old today! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. She is the sweetest, liveliest little thing and constantly keeps me on my toes. Peyton has the silliest personality and always has to be the center of attention, which sometimes bothers Parker, but he loves her just as much as her Daddy and I do! She has completed our family and Adam and I are so proud to be her parents. We are so blessed and thank God everyday for bringing Bitty Princess into our lives!

We knew she was going to be our little princess before she was even born!

She was only a day old when we got to bring her home. Parker was so excited to be a big brother! See, this is proof that he really does love his little sister.

My sweet family! I am so lucky!

She was just a perfect little angel.

One week old and wearing her first dress and bow, with many, many more to come.

Boy how the time flies...already 6 months old.

On her first birthday...all dressed up!

The princess sitting in her new throne.

Here she is today...18 months old...can't you just see the silly personality?!!? She always has to be cheesin' it up and we love it.

I LOVE my little Miss Priss!

Now I just wish time would slow down a bit. My babies are growing up way too fast!!!

A Day at the Mall

Today we met Andrea and Claire at Willowbend Mall for a little shopping and to let the kids play. They have an awesome playground in the mall. It is giant pieces of food made of this foamy type stuff that they can climb on, crawl on, jump on, and slide on. So fun!!!

Peyton is in shock by how much fun they are having!

My Goddaughter, Claire, looking so sweet!

Can you tell Parker wasn't feeling well? His bobo and ear were hurting.

BFF's! They were giving each other a hug.

Poor Peanut!

After complaints from Parker about his ear and his bottom, I decided to take him to the doctor today. Luckily I did, because he has a mild ear infection in his right ear, and cellulitis on his bottom. It is basicly a form of strep that you can get in your anus. You can click here to read about it. I had never heard of it, but apparently, from what the doctor told us, it is very common in children. If your child ever complains that his/her bottom hurts, and you see a red streak extending from it, don't chalk it up to diaper rash or chaffing, because it could be cellulitis. Isn't that crazy?!?! Who would have thought you could get strep on your bobo? Definitely not me!

I guess that's enough talk about behinds for today.

How cute is this?!?!

So what do you think of my new look? Shauna did an amazing job! All I had to do was give her a few colors that I liked, and this is what she came up with. She is super creative, super affordable, and super efficient! I highly recommend you check her out and beautify your blog. Her button is in the left column on my page (the hot pink and black one). All you have to do is click on her button and it will take you to her page.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Love ya!

End of Week 1 - BB 10

So what did you think about Brian getting voted out of the house? Adam and I really liked him at first until he started trying to make alliances with EVERYONE. If he would have stuck with his original two alliances (Dan and Ollie, and with Jerry), he probably could have won the game. But NO, he had to go and get cocky and screwed it all up. I guess we can just hope that they bring back a houseguest that has already been kicked off, like they have in previous seasons!

Also, I was NOT happy about Jessie winning HOH! What's up with that? I DO NOT like him. My predictions on who he will put on the block are either Renny and Dan, or Steven and Dan. What do y'all think? I know there are several of my friends that read my blog and none of you have commented on my BB posts. I want to know what y'all think! Hint, Hint...Forbes, Amber, and Andrea. I don't know who else watches, but if you do, let me know what your opinion is on who will be going up on the block.

Building a Truck with a Broken Arm

Parker did a lot during our weekly trip to Hachie. Yesterday afternoon he was playing hide-n-seek with my parents and cut his arm on one of their vents. For some strange reason, their take-in vents, where you put the filters, are on the walls, right above the molding. Anyway, he cut his arm on the open/close switch. He comes running to me in hysterics, yelling "Mama, I broke my arm!" Granted, it was bleeding pretty badly when it first happened, and I know it had to of hurt, but it definitely was not broken. Bless his heart! He kept telling us all night that he had broken his arm.

Here's a pic to see his wound. This was taken several hours later and after a bath, so it doesn't really do the initial wound any justice.
Later that evening he kept telling me that he wanted some wrenches. I had no idea what for, but I let him have a couple. He then told me that he needed the big glasses. I gave him the safety glasses, he put them on, grabbed his two wrenches, and headed out to Grump's truck. I was a little afraid of what he was going to do, but I waited, camera in hand, before I asked any questions. He proceeds to lay on his back and start scooting under the truck.
Here's a pic!

He continues scooting further under the truck and I ask him what he plans on doing under there. He looks at me like I was crazy, because, duh, I should have known. He says, "I building Grump's truck." Oh, so that's what he's doing! Hilarious!

Here's a pic of the building.

He comes in from the driveway and tells me that he needs to take the temperature of the tire on the 4-wheeler trailer. I assume he is talking about the air pressure. I continue to tell him over and over, while he is getting frustrated, that Grumps doesn't have a tire pressure gauge. He keeps telling me, "NO, MOM, THE TEMPERATURE!!!" I eventually ask him to show me what he's talking about and he gets on the work bench and points to the tape measure. OH!!! He wants to measure the tire.

Here he is checking out the tire.

He cracks me up with the things he comes up with. There is NEVER a dull moment with my Peanut! So if you ever need a mechanic with a "broken" arm to "build" your truck, or take the "temperature" of your tire, you know who to call!

Here's a cute pic of him taken after his bath. He was FILTHY after all his mechanical adventures!
