Kate has arrived!!

***UPDATED***

I got to go see Kate, Michelle, & Justin this afternoon! Robbin came and watched the kids for me. Thanks Nona! I wish I would have gotten to see Brody too, but he was at home...boo!

Kate is absolutely precious!! I got to hold her and love on her for a bit. I even got to hear her squeal at me when I was putting her hat on her little head. She didn't like it at all!!

Michelle is doing great! She's pretty sore, but is getting around really well. We walked to the little gift shop on her floor so she could get an Aggie outfit for Kate. She also bought a bow for each of the girls. Peyton says "Tank Ooo" to her Aunt Shelly!

Ok, well here are the pictures! I got some good ones!

The "new" Vaughn family, minus Brody :(
Forbes and Kate
Michelle looking at her precious Kate!
Cutie patootie in a big bow!
I love the look on her face!
Unwrapped...I love her chunky legs!!
She slept right through all the flashes
So precious!!

My BFF from high school had her second baby yesterday!! I am so excited for her and her family!!

Kate Elizabeth was born at 12:49 pm and weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces. You can go see a picture of her on Michelle's blog. She has the cutest chubby cheeks!! Mama and baby are doing great and from what she told me, Michelle had a great labor experience. I was so relieved, because her first labor with Brody wasn't so easy!

I am going to the hospital this afternoon to meet Kate and check on Forbes, so hopefully I will have some pictures to share and I will update this post!

I hope you all are having a great week!

Blast from the Past - #4

These pictures are also from July 2006. Parker was 15 months old. We spent the afternoon at Adam's Dad's house and Suellyn captured several precious pictures of Parker!

I love this picture!! Look at those cheeks!

I love it!! Can't figure out what this face means, but it's too cute! Can you tell that Bailey was very protective over Parker when he was a baby? She is in the background of every picture! This is one of my all time favorite pictures of Adam and Parker!! I love the way Adam is looking at him. Doesn't he look so proud?!?!
The last "Blast from the Past" post will be tomorrow and it has a couple of pictures of Peyton as a baby. Stay tuned!!

Blast from the Past - #3

These pictures are from Brian and Alli's wedding, which was in July 2006. I was a bridesmaid in the wedding and BARELY fit in my dress! I think I was almost 4 months pregnant and the only way I could fit in my dress was by wearing a girdle that went from my rib cage down to my thighs. It was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever worn, but it was worth it to be a part of the wedding!

As you may recall from the previous post, the bachelorette party was only a week or so before the wedding, so I wasn't able to partake in any of the drinking...I was Alli's DD! It was the same way at the wedding of course, so I think I was the only sober person there, other than the other preggos that were in attendance.

Adam was also supposed to be in the wedding, as a groomsman, but came down with the worst case of stomach flu I have ever seen the day before. So, while he was home sick as a dog, and my parent's had Parker, I attended the rehearsal dinner and wedding alone. Adam was SO upset about it!

Alli was a beautiful bride and the wedding was awesome!!

Mel, Alli, and me at the reception. Didn't Alli look gorgeous?!?!
Me, Mel, and Ashley...she was pregnant with Landon!
Craig and Czarina

Derek and Andrea...she was pregant with Claire!
Stacy and Alli
Czarina, Stacy, and Melody
Mel and Alli
Me, Mel, Czarina, and Stacy...look how fat I look!! Can you tell how tight the dress was?!?! The zipper was bulging in the back...so unflattering!
Me and Joe...he is Stacy's hubby!
Just 2 more posts to go! Hope y'all are enjoying the old, pre-blog pictures!

Blast from the Past - #2

These pictures are from Alli's Bachelorette Party in June 2006. I think Melody and I put the whole thing together and we ended up having a blast!

We started out at Buca di Beppo, an Italian food restaurant, where the food is served family-style...so YUMMY! This is where we ate and she opened her gifts. We then headed to a couple of bars/clubs in Addison to finish the night!

Me, Alli, and Melody! We all wore crowns and I brought stuff to decorate them.

Mel and Alli Stacy might kill me for this picture! This is Stacy and Mel with the blow-up man that we made Alli carry into the clubs. It was hilarious!! Stacy and Silvana at the restaurant Czarina might kill me too for this picture! Not quite sure what she's doing here, but I'm pretty positive she was having fun! Alli, Silvana, Me, and Czarina...Alli is looking at us like we're crazy! Can you tell that our crowns were decorated by this point?
I hope the girls don't get too mad at me for some of these pics! I think they're great!

Blast from the Past - #1

I was cleaning up my e-mail last week and found a bunch of old pictures. So, I thought I would do a week of "Blast from the Past", and show you all what I found!

This is the first of 5 posts I will do. These pictures are from January 2006, so Parker was 9 months old. We were all at Pete and Mel's, having a poker night! Parker was the first child born into our group of friends, so he used to get very spoiled by everyone. As you will see in the pictures, I guess everyone took their turns holding and loving on him.

I guess I was laying down with him trying to get him to sleep. Alli, me, Melody, and Parker! Alli and Melody Derek holding Parker...I love the smile! He was getting ready to have a baby a couple of years later! Alli and Brian Holby holding Parker! Brian has always been one of Parker's favorites! Andrea and Parker! He has always loved his Annie!!
Stay tuned this week for 4 more "Blast from the Past" posts!! I hope you all enjoyed seeing a few pics from when my Peanut was just a little baby!

Fun in the Sun!

The kids have so much fun playing outside! I thought I'd share a few pics with y'all!

Before you look at the pics though, let me ask you to please ignore our horrible yard! The winter weeds have taken over, and we haven't had enough good weather yet to do any yard work. Also, don't even ask about the girl's hair. It was post-nap hair and it was CRAZY!!

Bitty giving me "cheese" face! Do you notice the phone and the "pretty" sitting next to her? She was walking around for a long time, talking on the phone and combing her hair. Cracks me up!
The kids got out the egg holders that I got on clearance last year after Easter. Parker and Claire were going through the yard, picking "flowers", and putting them in the egg holders.Peyton thought she'd mow the weeds!
Claire was explaining to me what they were doing with their "flowers"
Precious Peanut! They both wore their new flip-flops today and loved them!
She was running from me!
Now she's pretending to be a puppy! She was walking around on all fours, panting and barking. Hilarious!
Claire decided she wanted to be a puppy too! Parker was in front of them going, "Come on puppies! Wanna go for a walk?" Too cute!
I hope we continue to have nice weather! I am SO ready for Spring!

Parker's BAD Day!

Bless his little heart! Parker had a pretty crummy day today.

Andrea came over early this morning because I had to leave by 9:00 for a Dr. appt. She graciously agreed to watch all 4 of the kiddos! Thanks Annie! Melody and Jonah came over around 10:00 to hang out. They had to leave around noon, and I didn't get home until almost 11:00, so I didn't get to see them very long. But, they promised to come back next week! I was sad I didn't get to see them very long.

Anyway, back to the point of the story. The first not so good part of the day for Parker was spilling his milk all over himself while I was gone. Apparently he was so upset that he started bawling about it. He went back to his room and after several minutes, Melody said he started stripping off all of his clothes and told them he was going to take a nap. What?!!? My son WANTED to take a nap! He must have been pretty upset. They said he was back there for a good 20 minutes.

Later on, right before nap time, I realize that all 3 big kids had been in the bathroom an awfully long time. As I approach the bathroom door, I am immediately knocked over by the stench of poo! I open it and the first thing I notice is that all 3 of them have their pants off and are walking around half naked. I guess the girls were trying to go potty. Well, Parker was up to his own schemes!

He had pooped in his underwear, and I think he was trying to clean it up before anyone realized what he had done. There was poop EVERYWHERE!!! I quickly get the girls out of the bathroom and make sure they aren't covered in poop. Luckily, they weren't. I look around and it is all over the wall, the floor, Parker, Parker's clothes, and the stool. Not to mention the fact that there is half a roll of toilet paper strung all over the floor.

So, I get Parker cleaned up and he walks out into the living room, while I am cleaning up the ENTIRE bathroom! When I walk out, I can still smell it very strongly! Well, Parker had some on the bottom of his shoe, and had tracked it through the living room. You can only imagine the mess that I had to clean up today! It was awful! Poor Parker knew how upset I was with him, so he kept following Andrea around and asking her the things that he would normally ask of me.

After that whole MESS, we finally get all the kids down and have a couple of hours of peace. When they all woke up, we headed to Wal-Mart to get stuff for dinner. Derek was working late, so they decided to stay for dinner and bath. The girls were in the buggy and Parker got to walk. He was picking out all kinds of things that he wanted to buy; bananas, watermelons, tomatoes...all stuff he wont even eat! When we get to the check-out, he finds even more great things that he wants; chips and candy! I repeatedly tell him no and we leave.

As we are approaching the car, I see something red sticking out of the corner of Parker's pocket. It is a Kit-Kat! He had stolen a piece of candy! So, we get all the other kids loaded in their car seats and put the groceries in the trunk, and I take Parker back into Wal-Mart. On the way in, I explain to him how it's wrong to steal and give him the whole speech. When we walk in and see the greeter, I make him take it out of his pocket and give it to the man. He told him that he took the candy and didn't pay for it and had to bring it back.

He was fine with that part. I could tell he was a little embarrassed, but knew that he was wrong, so he did it without a fight. Then I told him that he needed to tell him he was sorry. That's when Parker started to get upset. He told the man, "I was sorry", and started to cry. I felt so bad for my little man, because I knew he was genuinely sorry, but I had to teach him a lesson! He wanted me to hold him the entire way back to the car and he rested his head on my shoulder. We talked about it the entire way home, and I feel that he truly understood that what he did was wrong. I don't think he'll be doing it again!!

Parker had a pretty crummy day, but it ended with a great evening, so I guess all was OK! I really hope the rest of the week is better for my little guy. He is so sensitive; I don't think he could handle another day like today!

Crazy Night

This story is going to be really hard to explain in a post, but I am going to try anyway.

Saturday night, after dinner and bath time, I met Andrea in Plano for a night of shopping. I had lots of stuff to get for showers and parties, and just household items. We went to Party City, Babies R Us, Target, and Wal-Mart. Party City and Babies R Us are right next door to each other, so when we headed to Target, Andrea just got in the car with me and we left her car there.
When we returned to Andrea's car, around 11:30, we were just sitting there talking in my car and she was gathering up her things to leave. Out of nowhere, a car pulls up behind us with it's lights on and won't leave. I immediately lock the doors and we sit there for a second trying to figure out what the car is doing. The car turns it's lights out and puts on the hazards and just sits there! When we realize the car isn't leaving, we decided just to drive off. Well, the car started following us through the deserted parking lot.

Andrea and I were freaking out! We called 911 and they said they would have someone come ASAP. At this point, the car had gone and parked on the other side of the parking lot and turned off all it's lights, but nobody got out of the car. At this point, Andrea could have gotten in her car and left safely, but we were told to wait there for the officers. So, we're sitting in my car, next to Andrea's, when the car starts moving again. We decide to drive around again until the officer gets there, and the car starts following us AGAIN!

Finally, when the officer arrives, the car is parked again, and we tell the officer what has been going on. He goes over to the parked car and asks him for his information. After 10 minutes or so, the officer returns to tell us that it's the SECURITY GUARD! WTH?!!? We apologize to the officer for wasting his time, and he tells us that he's glad we called, because you never really know in these situations.

As the officer is getting ready to leave, the car zooms up to us, rolls down his window, and starts yanking on his shirt, showing us his security badge on his shirt. Then he flashes us a big grin to show off his pearly whites. Oh, no, wait a minute...he didn't have any pearly whites! He flashes us a big, gummy grin and then drives away. So creepy!!!

So, we still have no idea what his intentions were. I have a feeling he was intentionally trying to screw with us. Maybe he was bored! He handled it all wrong, if he was truly just trying to see what we were doing in the parking lot. He should have immediately shown us that he was a security guard and none of that other mess would have ever happened.

I don't think I have ever screamed and laughed so much in my entire life! It was one of those situations where if you don't laugh, you are going to cry. So, Andrea and I screamed our heads off and then laughed so hard we thought we were going to wet our pants. All the meanwhile, the "security" guard is chasing us around the parking lot, getting a big kick out of the crazy women!

What a night!!!

Here's a picture we snapped of ourselves before all the chaos! Please ignore the fact that neither one of us have on any make-up!

New Bed Linens

I have been wanting new bedding for a LONG time now, but we just couldn't find what we wanted. The couple of times that I did find something that I really liked, either Adam didn't like it, or we didn't have the money.

Adam promised me that once we got our tax return, I could finally get the bedding I have wanted for a LONG time! (Do you think I have wanted it for a while?)

Adam wanted very modern; I didn't. I wanted to have some green in it, so we could use the same artwork; he didn't. So, I compromised!

I went with my mom the day after we got our return and picked it all out and bought it! I didn't tell Adam, because I wanted to have it all set up on the bed, and surprise him when he came home. I ended up getting stuff from Target and Bed, Bath, & Beyond. None of it actually went together in the store. I picked pieces from different sets, and made it work.

I was worried about going with modern, because our furniture is nowhere near modern. I chose a modern comforter for Adam, but added girly pillows, green shams, and a green bedskirt. By adding those, it made it less modern, and we are able to keep up the same pictures.

The pictures are horrible quality because they were taken with my phone, but you'll get an idea of the colors. I hope you all like it! I do! I love the fact that I'm not embarrassed of my bedroom anymore!

Here's the bed from the front

Here's the bed from the side

Close-up pic of the middle pillow. It ties in all the colors. Has chocolate brown, tan, off-white, dark green, and is a shade lighter than the dark green shams.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell y'all that Adam ended up loving it!
