Parker's BAD Day!

Bless his little heart! Parker had a pretty crummy day today.

Andrea came over early this morning because I had to leave by 9:00 for a Dr. appt. She graciously agreed to watch all 4 of the kiddos! Thanks Annie! Melody and Jonah came over around 10:00 to hang out. They had to leave around noon, and I didn't get home until almost 11:00, so I didn't get to see them very long. But, they promised to come back next week! I was sad I didn't get to see them very long.

Anyway, back to the point of the story. The first not so good part of the day for Parker was spilling his milk all over himself while I was gone. Apparently he was so upset that he started bawling about it. He went back to his room and after several minutes, Melody said he started stripping off all of his clothes and told them he was going to take a nap. What?!!? My son WANTED to take a nap! He must have been pretty upset. They said he was back there for a good 20 minutes.

Later on, right before nap time, I realize that all 3 big kids had been in the bathroom an awfully long time. As I approach the bathroom door, I am immediately knocked over by the stench of poo! I open it and the first thing I notice is that all 3 of them have their pants off and are walking around half naked. I guess the girls were trying to go potty. Well, Parker was up to his own schemes!

He had pooped in his underwear, and I think he was trying to clean it up before anyone realized what he had done. There was poop EVERYWHERE!!! I quickly get the girls out of the bathroom and make sure they aren't covered in poop. Luckily, they weren't. I look around and it is all over the wall, the floor, Parker, Parker's clothes, and the stool. Not to mention the fact that there is half a roll of toilet paper strung all over the floor.

So, I get Parker cleaned up and he walks out into the living room, while I am cleaning up the ENTIRE bathroom! When I walk out, I can still smell it very strongly! Well, Parker had some on the bottom of his shoe, and had tracked it through the living room. You can only imagine the mess that I had to clean up today! It was awful! Poor Parker knew how upset I was with him, so he kept following Andrea around and asking her the things that he would normally ask of me.

After that whole MESS, we finally get all the kids down and have a couple of hours of peace. When they all woke up, we headed to Wal-Mart to get stuff for dinner. Derek was working late, so they decided to stay for dinner and bath. The girls were in the buggy and Parker got to walk. He was picking out all kinds of things that he wanted to buy; bananas, watermelons, tomatoes...all stuff he wont even eat! When we get to the check-out, he finds even more great things that he wants; chips and candy! I repeatedly tell him no and we leave.

As we are approaching the car, I see something red sticking out of the corner of Parker's pocket. It is a Kit-Kat! He had stolen a piece of candy! So, we get all the other kids loaded in their car seats and put the groceries in the trunk, and I take Parker back into Wal-Mart. On the way in, I explain to him how it's wrong to steal and give him the whole speech. When we walk in and see the greeter, I make him take it out of his pocket and give it to the man. He told him that he took the candy and didn't pay for it and had to bring it back.

He was fine with that part. I could tell he was a little embarrassed, but knew that he was wrong, so he did it without a fight. Then I told him that he needed to tell him he was sorry. That's when Parker started to get upset. He told the man, "I was sorry", and started to cry. I felt so bad for my little man, because I knew he was genuinely sorry, but I had to teach him a lesson! He wanted me to hold him the entire way back to the car and he rested his head on my shoulder. We talked about it the entire way home, and I feel that he truly understood that what he did was wrong. I don't think he'll be doing it again!!

Parker had a pretty crummy day, but it ended with a great evening, so I guess all was OK! I really hope the rest of the week is better for my little guy. He is so sensitive; I don't think he could handle another day like today!

Poor Parker! Mean Melody can't screw a lid on right. :( My favorite thing he before his nap was telling me I needed to go get 2 things for him first. "I need milk with the lid screwed on really tight. And Santa". I promise, Parker, to never mes up your lid again!!!!

Heather, love your new blog make-over! Oh my, I don't know who had the worse day, you or Parker. My goodness gracious. If it makes you feel any better, I too did my first and ONLY theiving at Parkers age, and I even stole the same thing. My mom handled it the same way you did, and it never happened again. Oh and I read about the exciting shopping trip, perhaps you should be "packing" when you and you buddies go out....scarry!
later, sooz

Ahhh...What a day? I bet sweet Parker learned a very good lesson. Parker's bad day sounds like a bad day for Momma too! When do you get your results?
