He cracks me up sometimes!

Yesterday I was trying to get everything packed and ready to go to Hachie and Parker had made a HUGE mess with all the DVD's, trying to find a movie to watch. He wasn't going to get to watch one anyway because we were about to leave, but that's beside the point. I kept telling him over and over to put them away and he continued to ignore me. So, I got in his face, at eye level, and told him again. He then proceeded to yell at me, "NO, I WANT YOU TO CLEAN THEM UP"! Well, keep in mind that this battle had already been going on a good 10 minutes, and in this house, the kids do NOT yell at Mommy, so he got a pop on his leg.

I know, I know...some of you may not believe in this form of discipline, but I do, and trust me, they're only hard enough to get his attention and 9 times out of 10 they are the only way I can get him to do anything. So, there is no need to call CPS. I promise!

Well, back to the story. I am watching him closely after this, because after his initial whining episode, I can tell he is in deep thought. He looks at me with the most serious face and says, "Mom, we need to talk". This is already funny to me, because he sounded so grown up. I say, "OK son, what do we need to talk about"? His reply, in all sincerity, was "DON'T SPANK ME"! It took all I had to not burst out in laughter right there in front of him.

I don't know if this story will be as funny to any of you as it was to me, but it probably will be to those of you that know Parker personally. He is quite the little character. I just had to share that because not only did it show me how much he is growing up, but I thought it was too cute!

Love you all
Heather
