I was going to save this post for tomorrow, but since I am still up and can't sleep, I figured I'd go ahead and do it now.
This is pretty much just a venting post about the wonderful day I had in the Allen household!
Peyton wakes up unusually early this morning and as soon as I go get her from her crib, it is very obvious why. She had leaked out all over her whole crib. She was saturated, along with her sheet, blanket, pillow, baby, and lamb. Well, since it was before 7:00 in the morning, I just decided to wipe her down with wipies and change her clothes.
Soon after breakfast this morning, I am folding laundry in my bedroom, and Parker comes in somewhat frantic, telling me that Lucky (our mutt) had "Throat". I was confused by this until I walked into the living room and found a huge pile of "throw up" on the carpet! So I immediately clean it up and spray it down with carpet cleaner, as Peyton is trying her hardest to play in it.
Not longer after that, I put Peyton down for her morning nap, in her crib that has a fresh sheet and a fresh blanket. Not 15 minutes later, she is screaming bloody murder. So, I go in there to find that not only has she unsnapped her onesie, and taken off her diaper, but she has peed all over the place AGAIN. So once again, I strip the bed, wipe her off, and put another onesie on her. At this point, she was completely over taking a nap.
I'm telling you, this day is a nightmare already, and it just gets better. I go back in the bedroom to try and finish the laundry and Parker comes in to tell me that Lucky had "throated" again. I go and inspect the situation, and sure enough she had "throated" not once, but twice. I immediately send her outside and clean up the messes.
The next 2-3 hours or so were somewhat peaceful...as peaceful as they can be with a 1 and 3 year old that already LOVE to fight. Anyway, now it mom's break time, a.k.a. afternoon nap, where on a good day, BOTH the kids go to sleep. I put both the kids down, and keep in mind, when I redressed Peyton, I put her in another onesie! VERY bright idea on my part! I think all is well until about 20 minutes later when Peyton is again screaming bloody murder. I go in her room to the EXACT same senerio that had just happened a few hours prior!
After the third time of being covered in pee, I decided wipies would not do the trick, so in the bath we go. Then I could not get her to go back down, so that means NO nap for Peyton ALL day long. That does not lead to a happy little girl.
To sum it all up:
I had to change crib bedding 3 times in less than 7 hours.
I had to change Peyton 3 times in less than 7 hours.
I had to clean up dog "throating" 3 times in less than 1 hour.
AND, I had to deal with a very unhappy shadow the rest of the day!
I am sure you are all tired of hearing me gripe by now, and I apologize, but I had to get that all off of my chest! It has been a very LONG day for me, to say the least.
On a happier note though, Peyton has several new words that are just precious! She now says "in seat" when she wants in her highchair, "bup" (up) when she wants out of her highchair, "coosme" (excuse me) when someone is in her way, along with "wawa" (water, but is said for anything liquid and bathtime), "bite" when she wants everyone to taste what she is eating, and my two favorites, which she has been saying for a long while now, are "thanky" (thank you) and "lovey" (love you)! She says a whole lot more but these are the newest ones and my favorite ones.
I am sure I have rambled enough, so I am going to try to go to bed again. Wish me luck!
Love you all
Heather
