Look at him go! He lasted a while too...I was surprised.
After Parker's mowing adventure, we all went inside to cool off and clean up all the toys Parker had gotten out earlier that morning. As he was cleaning, he sat aside his pail and two of his shovels. Once he cleaned up all of his messes, he told me he needed to go outside and dig. Well, the sprinkler was running in the backyard, and when wet, it gets very muddy, so I told him we would have to go in the front. There aren't any dirt patches in the front, but I had a few pots that had half dead plants in them, so I let him dig in the potting soil. He had a blast! He played with the dirt for at least 30 minutes. That's a long time for a 3 year old to do anything.
My little gardener! The blue thing is a sifter, and Parker loved it, because he was able to find some rocks. What is it with boys and rocks?
When he finished up his gardening, he comes up to me and out of the blue says, "I want to be strong like Daddy." I said ok, and was a little confused by this. He repeated himself and I told him that he was strong, and one day he would be as strong as Daddy. He got frustrated with me because I didn't know what he was talking about and he went and sat on the weight bench that is in the garage. I said, "Oh, so you want to work-out?" He said, "No, I just want to be strong."
After explaining to him for a while that he was not going to be able to lift the weights because they were too heavy, he finally gave up and went inside. I would have posted a picture of him on the weight bench, but honestly, I am a little embarrassed by how that part of the garage is looking right now. The bench is surrounded by huge trash bags full of clothes that are waiting to go to the Salvation Army. So y'all don't get to see any pics of how cute he looked trying to lift weights. Sorry!
I am loving this stage in his life where is he trying to be so independent and trying to do so many "adult" things. It makes for great learning experiences for Parker, but also creates great stories and lots of laughter for me and Adam. I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!

I love the mowing pictures! My Little Bit got a vacuum cleaner for her 2 year old birthday. She used to vacuum with me. She would even hold part of my cord b/c I held the cord while I vacuumed. It took her about a year and 1/2 to figure out hers didn't "really" vacuum. She was so disgusted with it!
I LOVE IT! Luke does the exact same things with Jon. He's got the little bubble lawn mower & a SpongeBob gardening set. You don't they are at all Daddy's Boys do you?
